EDUCATION NEWS

  • East Carolina University officials are setting goals to attract more freshmen and new transfers to boost revenue ahead of the fall semester, which begins in less than a week. The university plans to focus on enrollment and retention to improve its finances.  The Daily Reflector
  • Teachers in Greenville can book field trips to Sylvan Heights Bird Park — where students from preschool to college learn about many birds and interact with them — and the park will also host its Annual Fundraiser — a conservation event celebrating the nene — on October 11.  WITN

  • August is National Wellness Month — a time for self-care and healthy routines for mind, body and emotions — and local health experts urge residents to adopt holistic habits to improve overall well-being.
