Hundreds of expecting parents attended the Pitt Baby Shower at the Greenville Wellness and Opportunity Center yesterday; the free event offered tips on nutrition, safe sleeping, and car seat safety (plus supplies and help with Medicaid and WIC) and organizers plan to host more showers if interest continues.

ECU's S. Rudolph Alexander Performing Arts Series begins its 65th season today with Seraph Brass performing at A.J.
Fletcher Recital Hall. The reimagined series will offer intimate concerts and hands-on workshops for students & community members.
🎓 Education
Pitt County Schools saw its graduation rate rise to 86.4%—the highest since 2013—and more than two dozen schools improved their performance grades in the 2025-26 year, state test results released Wednesday show (about 80% earned C or higher and 90% met growth expectations).
ECVC is launching career services for people with disabilities at its Greenville center to help them gain job skills and explore new job opportunities.
The program will offer training modules and support services for local residents.

Gas prices in Pitt County have reached $4.19 a gallon for regular unleaded, and experts say higher costs may influence local midterm voter sentiment (one ECU professor noted challenges for the ruling party).
Greenville City Council will hold a public hearing today at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to discuss a proposal to expand Sawyer’s Fun Park, where the owners seek to rezone 17.23 acres for a driving range, mini golf, & cafe if annexed into the city limits.

ECU Pirates will host Appalachian State for their home opener this Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
