- ➤ ECU Pirates held a fall scrimmage on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium as players and coaches felt confident with their offense but said the team must improve in the red zone. The team will hold Media Day next Saturday—August 16—before opening their season at NC State on Thursday, August 28. WITN
- ➤ Pitt County Softball lost 2-0 to Indiana in extra innings at Elm Street Park on Saturday — the loss ends their bid for back-to-back championships as they prepare to fight for third place today at 11 a.m. WITN
