- ➤ ECU researchers with the Maritime Studies Program discovered four at-risk shipwrecks at Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site, including possible remains of the 1748 Spanish privateer La Fortuna—shipwreck timbers have been moved to a Greenville conservation lab and further analysis is planned. - ➤ State Auditor Davie Boliek released a six-month audit today showing that DMV wait times have risen to 75 minutes as the agency remains understaffed—only 505 of 710 positions are filled despite a population jump of 2.5 million over 20 years. He recommends that policymakers establish the DMV as an autonomous agency and launch a phased staffing and technical upgrade plan to improve service. WITN
