- ➤ Mary Miller and her husband started a Cedar Point farmers market eight years ago and now host it every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to honor National Farmers Market Week—supporting local agriculture, small businesses, and a safe community space. WNCT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On August 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Pitt County is hosting a blood drive at the Agricultural Center Auditorium at 403 Government Circle in Greenville where donors can register using FASTPASS to lower wait times. Donors receive a $15 e-gift card — free A1C testing is provided, and Pitt County employees who donate will be entered into a drawing for 2 hours of leave time with eight winners selected. Pitt County
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The North Carolina team won 4-3 over Team Latin America Sunday at Elm Street Park in the opening round of the Little League Softball World Series. Pitt County Softball, which won last summer's championship, will continue playing in games that run until August 10th. WITN
