- ➤ Firefighters responded to a cooking fire at Hunters Ridge Apartments in Farmville today around 6:40 a.m.—the blaze quickly spread, severely damaging 80% of the building and sending one resident to ECU Health for smoke inhalation as crews from two counties worked to control the flames. WITN

- ➤ A Greenville man, Jonas Fucito, was sentenced on federal charges to 15 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release for shooting police officer Jeremiah Lovelace on April 2, 2024 during a domestic disturbance when he fired a shotgun through his door—officers said he had barricaded himself and his child inside.
