- ➤ A Wilson teen is in jail after a high-speed chase that began in Wilson County and ended near a Dollar General in Greenville last Tuesday, when 19-year-old Christopher Bautista-Medina was arrested and faces a felony to elude arrest and an additional charge with his bond set at $5,000. WITN
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Hurricane Chantal caused one confirmed death and closed over 100 roads in Greenville + emergency crews began road repairs and advised residents of further delays. WITN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Filing to run for town or city government opened today across North Carolina, with every city council seat in Greenville and four seats—including the mayor’s—in Snow Hill up for election in November. Dianne Andrews and Dylan Potter filed to run in Snow Hill + the last day to file is July 18, with residency and a filing fee required. WITN
