- ➤ Travel is expected to be busy this Fourth of July weekend with millions projected to travel and PGV director Bill Hopper stating that airport flights remain normal — AAA predicts over 2 million drivers and advises leaving early to avoid peak times — since extra cars may increase the chance of accidents. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On July 3, Governor Stein vetoed Senate Bill 558, Senate Bill 227, House Bill 171, and House Bill 805 and signed eight bills into law. He said the vetoed bills would harm public services and distract from needed budget reforms for pay raises and school support. WNCT
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ A 1,344-square-foot home built by Pitt Community College students is up for sale by sealed bid auction at 9339 Dr. Fulford Rd in Winterville—bids may be sent by mail or hand delivery. The auction runs until July 28 at 5:00 p.m.—the starting bid is $100,000 and the winner must schedule the move within 30 days of closing. WNCT
