EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Pitt County Schools are holding graduation ceremonies for high school seniors this afternoon at Minges Coliseum, with J.H. Rose at (2 p.m.) and D.H. Conley at (6 p.m.). Additional ceremonies will take place tomorrow at Minges (South Central at 9 a.m., Farmville Central at 12 p.m., Ayden-Grifton at 3 p.m., and North Pitt at 6 p.m.), while early college graduations occurred on May 22. - ➤ Local libraries and parents in Greenville are fighting summer learning loss by offering a summer reading program (starting June 16th) and extra activities (including STEM projects and crafts) to keep students learning during the break. A recent Brookings Institution study found that students lose skills over summer, especially in math, and these new programs will help keep them on track. WITN

- ➤ The City of Greenville filed a lawsuit against Camping World to collect unpaid fines for an oversized flag and flagpole that break city zoning rules—The suit asks the court to enforce the fines. The Daily Reflector
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The 40th annual Children’s Miracle Network Celebration Broadcast raised more than $1.2 million to support pediatric care across eastern NC—bringing the total to $35.68 million for Maynard Children’s Hospital. The event recognized community groups, businesses, and individuals for their commitment. WNCT
