  • Nash County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 56-year-old suspect named Timothy Holder who fled along NC 97 and Baines Loop Rd after making threats when deputies attempted contact — he is described as a 6 ft 1 Black male with brown eyes, seen in a blue outer shirt, red inner shirt, baggy jeans, and a large hat while carrying a blue cooler and a black rifle.  WNCT

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pastor Darron Carmon hosted the launch party for his first book, Framed but God Sustained, on Saturday, May 31st at 6 p.m. at Rock Springs Center in Greenville. The book chronicles his journey from wrongful conviction to years in prison and the emotional battles he faced, with Carmon (senior pastor at Rebuild Christian Center Church and Greater Village Gate Church) sharing insights from two decades of ministry.  WNCT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Six new Eastern North Carolina schools were recognized as STEM Schools of Distinction by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, adding to five in Pitt County and three in Greene County. The total in STEM East reached 14—representing 28% of all active SSoD schools statewide.  WNCT
