  • Teens from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Greenville, Kinston, Wilson + Rocky Mount gathered earlier this month in Greenville to clean parks and trails; they worked together to improve these local outdoor spaces.  The Daily Reflector
  • Greenville’s Sunday in the Park concert series returns & expands to two parks as summer concerts start tomorrow, June 1 at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater at the Town Common with live music and local food trucks. CRIME NEWS

  • An 18-year-old Greenville man, Avion Hewlett, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, reckless driving-wanton disregard, speeding, unsafe tires and improper lane change after his Dodge Charger hit 24-year-old Jalen Wright near a Family Dollar on the 1700 block of SW Greenville Blvd. on May 14 in a crash that killed Wright and sent three passengers to ECU Health Medical Center.  WITN
  • A senior at South Central High School was charged with death by vehicle, reckless driving and other crimes after a wreck on Greenville Boulevard resulted in a man's death.  The Daily Reflector

  • Sound Rivers reported that nine sites on the Lower Neuse and Tar-Pamlico River basin failed water-quality tests after showing high levels of fecal bacteria. The failed sites — including boat ramps and launch areas in Kinston, Grifton, Havelock, Oriental, Greenville, and Pactolus — may raise health risks for swimmers and pets.  WITN
