- ➤ On Thursday, June 5, 2025, the Pitt County Board of Equalization and Review will meet at 4:00 p.m. at the Pitt County Office Building (1717 W 5th Street, Greenville) to hear property valuation appeals. Requests for hearings must be received by April 24, 2025 (4:00 p.m.) and the schedule will be posted at the Assessor’s office. Pitt County
- ➤ GUC’s Board of Commissioners approved a land purchase agreement this week to build a third elevated water tank on the growing southwest side of town—officials say the move supports future water supply needs as the area expands. The Daily Reflector
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ ECU Health is expanding its Health Sciences Academy program into eastern high schools to ease the shortage of health care workers (pioneered in Pitt). The new program will train students in critical health sciences skills (aimed at closing workforce gaps). The Daily Reflector

- ➤ High school baseball playoffs ended May 16 in Greenville with J.H. Rose winning five to three over North Brunswick and Midway winning two to zero over Southwest Edgecombe. Softball games saw D.H. Conley win one to zero over Wake Forest, Scotland win three to zero over South Central, North Lenoir win four to two over Martin and Roxboro Community win four to one over Bear Grass. WITN
