- ➤ Dr. Carlos Marroquin at ECU Health Medical Center performed the first noninvasive liver tumor treatment on April 21 using the Edison Histotripsy System, which uses ultrasound to break down tissue without incisions, needles, or heat. The procedure marked the first use of this technology east of Winston-Salem (a milestone in local advanced care). WITN
