  • Melissa Chandler faces more than a dozen counts of financial card theft and over sixty counts of identity theft for using another woman’s bank cards from March to December 2024—she spent over $10,000 and is held in Pitt County Jail on a $410,000 bond.  WITN

  • More than 4,600 ECU students graduated on May 9 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium + Coast Guard member Ryan Zaferatos surprised his sister Karigan during the College of Health and Human Performance ceremony.   • ECU graduates celebrated a hard-earned achievement on Friday afternoon as Deallaney Hudson walked the stage after overcoming back surgery complications—student athlete Hailey Yentz, who survived a sudden cardiac arrest in February, also marked her graduation and will start her journalism career on Monday. Both students earned their degrees in recreational therapy and journalism, proving that hard work can help overcome even the toughest challenges.  WITN
