  • Saving Graces 4 Felines is teaming with local adopters to find forever homes for cats and kittens — the group highlights Sport, a friendly 7-month-old stray who does well with kids and other cats — adoption requires a $95 cash fee, a vet reference, and up-to-date vaccinations.  WITN

CRIME NEWS

  • The Pitt County Sheriff's Office charged a Greenville man with trafficking cocaine, fentanyl and other narcotics after a months-long investigation ended — officials reported the probe has concluded.  The Daily Reflector

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Yesterday the Greenville Country Club hosted the third-annual Trey Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament with 176 golfers on the course. The tournament raised funds for five scholarships for Pitt Community College construction students—honoring Brain Tumor Awareness Month and Trey Kuhn, a former student diagnosed with Glioblastoma.  WNCT

  • Deputy Chili is a bomb detection K-9 donated through a federal program who joined the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office to help improve public safety + she is expected to enhance law enforcement efforts moving forward.  WITN
  • Beginning next Monday, Dickinson Avenue from West 8th Street to Reade Circle in Greenville will be closed for utility work as crews complete sewer and water repairs and then work on curbs, gutters and roadway repairs — detour signs will guide traffic and pedestrians while similar work starts further down the road once this section is finished.  WITN

HEALTH NEWS

  • Vietti Food Group is recalling 4,500 cases of Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans because undeclared soy — which may cause allergic reactions—is in the product. Customers in North Carolina are urged to return the 15-ounce cans sold at major stores for a full refund, and no adverse reactions have been reported.  WITN

  • High school baseball and softball playoff second round games took place yesterday in Greenville. D.H. Conley beat New Hanover 7—2 in baseball while in softball, D.H. Conley won 3—2 over South View, South Central won 3—1 over Dixon, and Grace Christian beat John Paul II 12—3.  WITN
