- ➤ ECU Alumni Days of Service invites alumni to volunteer today in campus and community projects including working at JOY Soup Kitchen and supporting patients at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge—efforts that also include food pantry and clothing donations to help students. - ➤ The Greenville Women’s League will host the Cornhole for a Cause tournament on Saturday, May 17 at Unity Free Will Baptist Church to support Awaken Coffee, a shop that employs people with special needs. Thirty-two players will pay $30 to join either a competitive bracket for cash prizes or a friendly bracket for gift cards, and games will follow a double-elimination format with randomly drawn partners — a structure that keeps play fair. - ➤ The Pitt Pirates Robotics Team is heading to Houston to take part in the four-day FIRST Championship—600 teams from around the world will compete. The team, which has competed since 2012 and is in its final season, will use nearly $20,000 in support from Optimum to prepare their robot and gain valuable skills for the future. WITN
- ➤ Greene Central High School band earned the top rank at the Music Performance Adjudication for the first time since 1987 when a viral TikTok of director Andrew Howell caught Kelly Clarkson’s eye.
