Power of Dance will host its community day on April 18, inviting residents to join dance workshops and enjoy live music—with free activities set to boost community spirit.

Rotary Oriental will host an in-water boat show all weekend for boating enthusiasts.

The event will showcase various boats along local waterways.

Residents, including locals from Greenville, spoke at the NC Utilities Commission hearing in Snow Hill about Duke Energy’s proposed 18 percent rate hike that may raise monthly bills; a formal hearing is scheduled for Aug.

11 and new rates will go into effect Jan. 1, 2027 if approved.

A hotel ownership company purchased two adjoining tracts at Evans Street & Reade Circle for $1,450,000 on March 19.

The property, where multiple restaurants once operated, may soon host a new hotel downtown.
