  • Koinonia Christian Center Church gave free gas worth $30 per car to 350 cars at Murphy Gas station on Greenville Boulevard this morning to celebrate Easter weekend and will hold Easter services tomorrow, with lines starting at 4:30 a.m.  WITN

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A large vegetation fire was reported near 1586 Roosevelt Spain Road at 4:20 p.m. Saturday with Falkland, Belvoir and Staton House fire departments (assisted by the N.C. Forest Service) on scene as officials work to gather more details.  WITN

CULTURE NEWS

  • Next week, East Carolina University will host the Billy Taylor Jazz Festival featuring renowned jazz musician Cyrille Aimée against a vibrant spring backdrop on campus.  The Daily Reflector

  • Firefighting crews are battling a large vegetation fire near Greenville today and are working to contain the blaze as conditions prove challenging.  WITN

  • East Carolina swept Charlotte 15-5 on Saturday at Lewis Field (Clark-LeClair Stadium) as the Pirates scored 11 runs in the first inning with strong hits from Burress and Whitaker; they will face Duke Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in conference play.  WITN
