- ➤ Today PirateFest turns Greenville Town Common and First Street into a pirate land with live music, pirate acts, cannon demonstrations and plenty of food and drinks from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; free parking is available and Downtown Greenville Partnership Executive Director Troy Dreyfus said the festival now features multiple artists performing during the day + the event has updated its music lineup to blend performance with family fun. - ➤ Chef Alessio Passalacqua at Nino’s Cucina Italiana in Greenville won first place for Best Cheese Slice in the Southeast Division at an international pizza expo in Las Vegas. He said his win is a great birthday present as he turns 25 this weekend — he plans to return next time to aim for Best Overall. WITN
- ➤ JH Rose High School’s Rampant Theatrical Company is presenting 'Mamma Mia,' a jukebox musical about a daughter searching for her father on a Greek island before her wedding—performances will be held Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the school with tickets priced at $6 for students and senior citizens and $12 for adults.
