- ➤ Pepsi’s roots trace back to 1893 when New Bern pharmacist Caleb Bradham created a drink that evolved into a global brand, and in 1935 a Greenville family revived regional bottling to honor that legacy. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ ECU Health Maynard Children's Hospital benefited from Children's Miracle Network's 29th annual Music for Miracles Radiothon, which raised $121,890 including a $20,000 match from Craig Goess + Greenville Toyota. The event, started in 1998, has raised $4.1 million overall to secure life-saving equipment and enhance facilities. WITN

- ➤ East Carolina rallied with a five-run comeback to beat Charlotte 12-9 tonight at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville. The Pirates hit key home runs in the seventh and added a two-run blast in the eighth to clinch the weekend series. WITN
