  • On Tuesday, Pitt County deputies stopped 31-year-old Chelsea Cahoon after she used her sister’s name during a traffic stop and found her with heroin, marijuana and fentanyl; she faces multiple charges including probation violation, drug possession, identity theft and resisting a public officer.  WITN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • East Carolina University is continuing its annual Research and Creative Achievement Week by hosting podium presentations, poster sessions, and academic showcases with work from over 400 students and postdoctoral scholars. The event follows ECU earning R1 research status and drew nearly 500 people to celebrate its research excellence — officials said more innovative projects will be featured as the week continues — reinforcing the school’s growing impact.  WNCT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Radio listeners across Eastern Carolina tuned in for the 28th annual Music for Miracles radiothon, which raised $113,734 for James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital—funding state-of-the-art facilities, life-saving equipment and family resources.  WITN
