- ➤ Today, River Bend dedicated a liberty tree as part of the Sons of the American Revolution’s Liberty Tree Project, which will plant 250 trees by July 4; local groups + city officials joined the event that featured a musket volley. WITN

- ➤ Latina writers held a panel discussion about writing and culture at Sheppard Memorial Library on March 19. Hosted by East Carolina University’s Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences and attended by over 100 community members, the event featured four speakers and was moderated by Adriana Pacheco (of Hablemos Escritoras). - ➤ East Carolina University will present two Cinderella shows this spring, featuring a dance performance and an opera at its campus. The adaptations bring a fresh take on the classic tale for local theater fans. The Daily Reflector
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The ECU dental school’s Sonríe Clinic provided free oral health care to 80 Hispanic community members in February at Ross Hall. Over 90 volunteers – including dental and pre-dental students – worked together to deliver about $35,000 in services while gaining valuable practice in a community event. East Carolina University
- ➤ Children's Miracle Network hosted its annual Radiothon yesterday in Greenville to raise funds for local children's hospital care & support community services. Local radio stations joined the effort to share inspiring stories among families. WITN
- ➤ Winterville residents can now get virtual health care & community resources at the local library through ECU Health’s Health Hub, which offers help with food, housing, and employment. The program links locals with online doctor visits and essential support services. WITN
- ➤ ECU Health patients with UnitedHealthcare are nervous as contract talks continue amid uncertainty over in-network coverage that may end on April 29. Both sides blame each other for the stalled negotiations, leaving some patients worried about finding new specialists soon. WITN
