  • ECU held a technology summit in Greenville on Monday, Mar. 2. The event gathered industry experts and educators to discuss technology trends impacting local businesses.  WITN
  • ECU will hold its 10th annual Pirate Nation Gives fundraising event on March 4, where supporters can donate to enhance scholarships, student programs, and more. Activities run from 9 a.m. at the Student Center and 9:30 a.m. at Eakin Recreation Center with online and phone donation options.  East Carolina University

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Security was increased at Camp Lejeune, MCAS Cherry Point, MCAS New River, and Seymour Johnson AFB after a directive from U.S. Northern Command following the joint Operation Epic Fury; commuters are advised to allow extra travel time due to additional checks & armed patrols.  Public Radio East

  • On Monday, Mar. 2, local high school basketball quarterfinals took place in Greenville. In the boys bracket, Washington defeated a rival and Farmville Central won in overtime, while on the girls side Northwood and Goldsboro secured wins; teams now prepare for the next round.  WITN
