  • Greenville customers and fans explored the biggest boat show in the area at the Convention Center, where over eight dealers and 30 manufacturers display boats amid higher prices from COVID (post-inflation) adjustments; the show runs today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  WITN
  • A Greenville woman won more than $426,000 on a North Carolina Lottery digital game, marking one of the largest jackpots in recent memory (lottery officials confirmed her win).  The Daily Reflector

EDUCATION NEWS

  • ECU visual merchandising and interior design students applied art and science in a real world project to redesign the Dail House event space near main campus, guided by Dr. Rebekah Rogers. The project used eye movement research to plan art placements & engage community partners, giving students valuable experience.  East Carolina University
  • ECU Health launched its Academic Loan Scholarship Program to help Pitt Community College health sciences students pay for tuition and boost the region’s health care workforce. The program, announced in Winterville, offers a new financing option for eligible students.  The Daily Reflector

HEALTH NEWS

  • NC MedAssist held a free mobile pharmacy event at Winterville’s Train Depot on Friday, giving over-the-counter medications and produce baskets to nearly 1,000 residents without needing ID or insurance. Local leaders helped bring the event to town, improving access for families.  WITN
  • On Feb. 20, a mobile pharmacy began offering free prescription medications to Greenville residents, aiming to expand health access for those in need. Community leaders expect the service to increase support for local health care.  WITN
  • East Carolina University received a $1.12M three-year grant for two programs that fight disease and help people in recovery in eastern NC.  The Daily Reflector
