ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 22 at approximately 5 p.m., Greenville Police responded to a collision on Stantonsburg Road near Farm Drive—Billy Jerome Jordan’s Chevrolet Malibu crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Camry, resulting in his death and serious injuries to the 62-year-old woman who remains hospitalized as investigators review the scene. - ➤ Kristen Swindell, a 35-year-old cleaning lady from Swan Quarter who worked for clients for three years, was arrested on Tuesday by Hyde County deputies and now faces 84 charges including 37 counts of identity theft after banks reported fraudulent activity on December 19th, 2024. WITN
- ➤ Ebony Foreman, the 42-year-old manager of a Greenville dollar store on Stantonsburg Road, was charged with felony embezzlement on Thursday after police say she pocketed over $24,000 from end-of-day deposits; she was released after posting a $1,000 bond. WITN

- ➤ Students in Pitt County Schools’ two early college high schools turned their tassels as the district’s earliest Class of 2025 graduates + 130 students earned diplomas + school officials described the event as a milestone for early college programs. The Daily Reflector

- ➤ Memorial Day weekend is here and Pitt County Fire Marshall Jay Morris warned Greenville residents to keep clear space around grills and to keep kids and pets away while cooking. - ➤ The Pitt County Board of Elections will conduct a simulated election on May 29 at 10:00 a.m. at its annex site (behind the Technology Enterprise Center at 1800 North Greene Street) to test new voting machines as part of its upgrade from Unity to ES&S EVS 6.3.0.0 and the planned exchange of ballot marking devices for ADA compliance.
