- ➤ MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), a Greenville native, will host the live taping of Beast Games Season 3 at ECU’s Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on May 24. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are available for fans to join the competition that may award up to $10,000. WITN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students returned to Greenville Christian Academy on Thursday morning after a mechanical issue with the HVAC system led to an evacuation on Greenville Boulevard. Fire/Rescue crews responded to the alarm and cleared the building once it was safe for everyone. WITN
- ➤ Blannie Ward, a 70-year-old Ahoskie resident, will earn her high school diploma today at Roanoke-Chowan Community College's commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. She began night classes in 2012 through the College and Career Readiness program and plans to pursue a Certified Nurse Aide license after graduation. - ➤ The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission approved new rules for sheepshead fishing in inland and joint waters that will take effect May 8 (daily catch is limited to five fish of at least 14 inches, and the species cannot be sold). Public Radio East
