- ➤ On Saturday morning at 2:30 a.m., police responded to shots fired at an apartment on 900A Masters Lane that injured a 7-year-old boy—taken to a hospital—and a 12-year-old boy who was treated at the scene as local residents said they were startled by the noise. WITN

- ➤ ECU held Research and Creative Achievement Week from March 30th to April 4th where over 400 participants presented projects in fields from biomedical sciences to the humanities. The event showcased work such as machine learning research to predict breast cancer recurrence and a community project linking local culture to economic development — it also marked ECU’s designation as an R1 institution.
