- ➤ Officials at the NC Turnpike Authority warned Greenville residents about a rise in text scams that claim unpaid tolls and demand payment, noting that NC Quick Pass will never ask for payment by text—while the NC Department of Justice investigates the fraud and Attorney General Jeff Jackson urged people not to respond to unsolicited messages. - ➤ Pitt County Sheriff’s Office deputies enforced saturation patrols during St. Patrick’s Day as part of the Booze It and Lose It campaign, making 3 DWI arrests, 3 crime gun arrests, 6 drug violations and 4 child car seat violations — and they said patrols will increase as weather warms. WNCT

- ➤ The Greenville Planning and Zoning Commission voted 7-2 to recommend denying the rezoning request for a 17-acre lot on Stantonsburg Road west of town for industrial development — the decision stops the plan to change the current zone. The Daily Reflector
