- ➤ Governor Josh Stein released a report on Wednesday, Jan. 14 calling for urgent actions to boost affordable child care for working families. The report sets six goals for 2026, including a minimum reimbursement rate + free care for teachers, while Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt said the task force will push the General Assembly to treat child care as essential.
