Since October 6, the Pitt County Department of Social Services toy drive for children in foster care has accepted donations of new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, diapers, and hygiene items and will run until December 8 — local residents and businesses are invited to donate to bring holiday cheer.

County leaders saw a preview of initiatives in Pitt County Schools that focus on International Baccalaureate and dual language programs—offering new opportunities for students. School officials said the preview was held last week.
Greenville’s BUILD Project is set to finish this week as the South Pitt and West Fifth streets intersection will reopen on Friday — nearly two months early. Meanwhile, the NCDOT Dickinson Avenue project is expected to complete by late next month or early December, and additional roadway and greenway work will continue.
